The Freedom Model Notes

 Preface

  • author made bold statement substance use is compeletely & fully your choice.
  • auhor saying that addiction and recovery are both social construct and but after reading this book you will have never see addiciton in different perspective.and finally any body can moderate.
The Addiction and Recovery Religion

  • first reaction from people to the the idea of successfully moderating is fear & anger , and they believe that it all giving fall sense of security.
  • addiction” does not actually exist as a state of loss of control or hopelessness but only as a state of belief in loss of control and hopelessness.
  • Addiction is a set of beliefs held together by myths, mysticism, and misguided ideas, as well as misinterpreted and flawed research.
  • recoverey society focus on fear and dominant power of substance
  • The treatment centers are its churches, the recovery zealots are its missionaries, and the addicts and alcoholics are its unknowing followers. and they were who make substance a very supernatural or living breathing thing.
  • it's not that substance is changed, but belief and theory.

The Freedom Model

  • The Freedom Model is not a recovery program or treatment but a mindset that clarifies misconceptions about addiction and recovery. It empowers individuals to choose between heavy use, moderation, or abstinence based on facts and personal happiness, free from fear or societal myths.

Pursuit of Happiness is the Key

  • people move on when they see happier option, this also applies to heavy substance use.

Abstinence or Your Life!” – the False Alternative

  • recovery society will tell you that you should never touch substance , otherwise remain addiction hell.
  • The choice between “abstinence or your life” is like a robber saying, “Your money or your life.” It’s not a real choice because it’s forced by fear. You make the decision out of panic, not because it makes you happy or is what you truly want.
  • research shows that nobody loses control , even most extreme user can easily moderate.
  • mugger is forcing one time decison while conselors trying to force lifelong decison. hence people miserable and deprived causing get back to old heavy use cycle.

Starting on the right foot

  • People change quickly and happily when they see that a new way of living, like reducing or stopping substance use, is more satisfying than their old habits. This happens by focusing on what makes them truly happy and reassessing the benefits of different choices, including abstinence. Fear-based decisions, like choosing lifelong abstinence out of panic, get in the way of this process. The false belief that the only choices are abstinence or losing control stops people from thinking about what truly makes them happy and prevents real, lasting change.
  • By coming face to face with the fact that you are capable of moderation now, you give yourself the best chance of quickly and happily changing.

Substance Use Is Risky

  • loss of control” over substance usage is a myth, so that you can approach this from a place of achieving greater happiness and long-term success, rather than making a short-lived decision based on fear and panic
  • freedom model based on truth. those 2 are :
  • 1. Moderate use is possible for anyone, because loss of control is a myth.
  • 2. Risk-free substance use is not possible for anyone.Every action in life carries some level of risk and cost.

Beliefs Are Powerful

  • If you believe in addiction, recovery, or the idea that substances can control you, you should avoid using them completely. This is because those beliefs make it hard to trust your ability to moderate or stop. Free will is absolute—you either have it or you don’t. If you think substances can overpower you, it’s safer to abstain. However, even if you reject these beliefs, you might still choose abstinence, and that’s okay—as long as it’s a choice made for your happiness, not out of fear.
  • Drugs don’t have an inherent power to make people addicted—addiction is a belief, not a fact. Research shows that over 90% of people with serious substance issues either quit or moderate their use on their own, without professional help.  Like many others, you have the freedom to decide what’s best for your life.
  • Understanding the facts and letting go of fear about substances allows you to choose your own path without guilt or shame. However, this doesn’t eliminate the risks of substance use, such as health issues, legal consequences, or social fallout.

Reddit Useful Guide

 The Best Time To Brush

You need to brush twice a day.

The best time to brush during the day is After breakfast.

The best time to brush at night is after your last food or drink. The only thing you can consume after brushing at night is unflavoured water.

wait for 30 -60 minutes if you have consumed citrus foods , for the sake of netralization of acid in teeth

What Brush Should You Use?

Use soft bristled toothbrushes. Hard/medium bristles can cause significant injury to your tooth and gum in the long run, and are actually a common cause of hypersensitivity.

If you ask for my recommendation, use a brush with thin bristles having round tips(colgate, oral B),a criss cross angulated design (colgate criss-cross) and a flexible neck for better cleaning( colgate, oral-B)

If you have some crowding ( daant thode tedhe ya aage piche hain), go for a zig zag or a criss cross pattern.

Don't Forget To Clean Your Tongue

Use the tongue cleaner on the back of your toothbrush.

or use plastic toungue scraper , gnetly scrap tounge

How Much ToothPaste?

small pea sized portion of toothpaste on a wet toothbrush is enough for an adult.

The Right Way To Brush:

Preparation:

Wet your toothbrush and apply a pea-sized amount of toothpaste.

Tap gently to let the paste settle between the bristles.

Duration:

Brush for at least 2 minutes for effective plaque removal.

Pressure:

Don't brush hard—it can cause sensitivity.

Use light pressure: Press your fingernail until it turns pale; that’s the same pressure you should apply while brushing.

How Do You Store Your Brush?

Store your brush in a clean, dry area, where the brush can air dry.

When Do You Change Your Brush?

to avoid bacterial buildup over the brush, and to maximise effectivity.

Change your brush every 3 months, ideally.

A Cat, Friend and Broken Promises

4-5 month ago when my mother went to somewhere to my close realtive  home my mother how many cats are like 2 rooms but 15 cats. i was also suprised o fuck that's really so many cat. trapped in attention-seeking bias i gravitated through i am saying everybody especially that my relative has so many cat.

then my friend named salman called me as a normal friend if i want 1 cat from it can i get then me without seeking second said yeah why not you are my friend without unknowingly that relative will give me cat or not.

and guess what, happened what i don't wanted to due to some personal reason they denied and making all drama and excuses blal.blah and blah...

then here i am alone who gave all hope to my friend and her family that sameer will bring cat... and then i moved to old llm wisdom guy chad-pee-tea and

chatgpt responded when i seek advice for this situation mentioning brutal truth  :

As a man, your word is your bond. If you make a promise, it's on you to ensure it gets fulfilled—no excuses, no relying on others. If someone else’s failure ruins your promise, it’s still your responsibility. Either deliver, or don’t promise at all. Next time, verify everything before you commit, or be ready to take the hit and own it like a man.

and i messaged this whatsapp this :

Hey man, I know I promised to bring the cat, but for some reason, I couldn’t get it. I’m really sorry if you’re disappointed."

lesson for future from this small issue that :

  1. Never Make Promise if you don't able to fulfill it
  2. Don't make assumption that they will, always be rationally
  3. dissappointment and disrespect are the part of life take responsibilty and embrace it

Efficiency by Bowtiedbull Summary & Notes

 Starting a Business

why to start a business in this capitalist world , 5 reason are listed below :

#1 You Are Paid Less Than You Are Worth: if the paid you more than they make they will loose. it's so simple.

#2 The Company is Trying to Automate Your Position: every company trying to automate task to save cost and easily leverageable and also trying to run company efficiently and more accurately.

#3 Everyone is Replaceable: whether you work for 5 , 10, 15 years , you can be simply easily repplaceable with not hurdles for company or regret.

#4 Relying on Someone Else is Similar to Prison: depending on someone for financial support at last result that you will hate that person that makes jealous nad less happy etc

#5 You Create Implied Opportunity Costs: Start a part-time business and grow it alongside your job until it earns more than your salary. Once it’s stable and surpasses your income, consider quitting for financial safety.

Our Moral Framework

Avoid Churn and Burn: some people sell low-quality products quickly and constantly chase new ones to keep making money. While it can make you rich, it’s not a good long-term plan because:

  1. Customers won’t return, so you’ll always need new ones.
  2. You’ll have to keep finding the "next big thing," which is exhausting.
  3. It can damage your reputation if your name gets tied to bad products.

Instead, focus on quality and building lasting customer relationships for a sustainable business.

Test the Product: If you're selling something new, test it first to make sure it's good enough for customers. It doesn’t have to be the best product (small differences often don’t matter to most people), but it must work well. If you can’t test it yourself, research thoroughly to confirm its quality. Testing is crucial because it builds trust with your customers and helps you create a loyal client base.

Morals that Are Excuses

Morally Opposed to Product X: in this section bowtiedbull discusses why you should not bring moral when you starting a business  for example selling cofee and vodka , they both are chemicals and both are harmful in long term both they both sold without any hurdle  just becoause there us demand .. concluding if there is demand some one will step in , so why not you whether it is drugs or muscle supplement

Can Only Sell A Product They Love: eople often tolerate jobs they hate for money, so it doesn’t make sense to skip selling a valuable product for the same reason. You don’t need to personally use the product; as long as it works and is in demand, you can still sell it successfully. While liking the product helps, it’s not essential for making money or seizing profitable opportunities. Don’t ignore profitable products just because you don’t use them yourself.

Business Monetization :
